Obituary for Eunice Camp

Mrs. Eunice McDonald Camp, 83, of 738 Park Drive, Statesville, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, following an extended illness. She was born in Menden, West Virginia on May 19, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Lincoln Garfield McDonald and Geraldine Holmes McDonald. She was twice married, first to Gilbert Calloway and second to Pittman Camp, both of whom preceded her in death. A stepson, Ennide Camp and a step-daughter, Marcelle Fennell, also preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Tazwell County High School in Bluefield, West Virginia and attended Bluefield College. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Cleveland and later made her home in Statesville, N. C. and united with First Baptist Church. She was employed as a LPN at St. Luke's Hospital and Charity Hospital, both in Cleveland, Ohio.
She leaves to remember and celebrate the blessing of her life, two sons, Blaine G. Calloway of Tazwell, Virginia and Morris (Gwendolyn) Q. Camp of the home; two daughters, Geraldine Camp (Len) Smith of Statesville and Corrie Camp (Tory) Howell of the home; a stepdaughter, Juanita (George) Davis of Philadelphia, Pa.; one brother, Joseph (Josephine) McDonald of Aanchorage, Alaska; grandchildren, Carlos (Corinth) Camp of Greensboro, ShaVonne Camp of Winston-Salem, Morris Camp of Charlotte; LaToya Camp, Maurice (Samantha) Roseboro, Randolph Camp, Ashley Camp, Len Smith, Jr., Vernisha Camp, Jasmine Keaton, LaToya Howell, Rochelle Parks, Chardas Howell, Tory Howell, Jr., Itiya Smith, Derrick Howell, Christian Bailey, Dondre Howell, Diamond Daniels, Eric (Sunshine) Dalton and Kenneth Dalton, both of Statesville; Patricia Camp Brown-Neely of Shelby, Melody (Curtis) Harrod of Maryland, Deborah Rice of Philadelphia, Pa., Roy Carter of Cleveland, Ohio, a host of great great grandchildren including, Montrell Camp, Michelle Brown, Michael Brown, Kasey Brown, Tracy Brown, Tyra Mitchell, Tanae Harrod, Tanisha Mitchell, Destiny Camp, Deonte Camp, Carlos Camp, Savahan Camp, Corrie Meredyth, Caylin Camp, Noah Bowers, Joself Daniels, Jr., Avianna Watt, Mya Roseboro, Angel Campos, Shanya Caldwell, Melvin Camp, Montre Ellis, Akiyah Carter, Jaylin William, Mia Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at The Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel of Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, Statesville. Minister Michael Perrin will officiate and Rev. Michael Gillespie will eulogize. Members of the family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be follow in the McDonald Cemetery in Tazwell, Virginia.
