Obituary

John 3:16 " For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have an everlasting life."

Alan Bruce Alexander was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 16, 1964 to Theodore Roosevelt Alexander and Aleen Mattox Alexander. His father, Theodore preceded him in death, on June 20, 1991. Alan entered into eternal rest on August 18, 2020.

Alan attended Philadelphia Public School and Iredell-Statesville Public School System. He graduated from Statesville Senior High School in June 1983. Shortly after graduation, he obtained a job working in the manufacturing field.

His loving grandmother, Mrs. Summer Mae Mattox, also preceded him in death in January 1992.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, in addition to his loving mother, Mrs. Aleen Mattox Alexander of Statesville, NC; his daughter, Ms. Shameka Mathis of Statesville, NC; three grandchildren, Elijah Mathis, Aniyah Clark and Davion Mathis; his brothers and sisters, Mr. Theodore Alexander of Philadelphia, PA, Mrs. Diane (William) Brinkley of Philadelphia, PA, Mrs. Susan (Calvin) Jones of Statesville, NC, Ms. Maryanne Alexander of Philadelphia, PA, Mr. David Alexander of Statesville, NC and Mr. Wayne Alexander of Statesville, NC; his uncles and aunts, Mr. Roy R. (Gladys) Mattox, Mrs. Virginia L. (William) Cooper and Mr. Earl (Autumn) Tabron; his nephews and nieces, Abdul Alexander, Shaheed Alexander, Inez (Aleen) Alexander, David (Eugene) Moten, Michael Alexander, Nicole Alexander, Justin (Pierre’) Alexander, David (Emmanuel) Alexander, Dwayne Jones, Mark Alexander, Antonio Jones, Kendra Cowan, Ryne Crosby, and Sharain Crosby; a host of cousins from Philadelphia, PA, Ashland , VA. and Statesville, NC; other relatives and friends.

The call was sudden, the shock severe.
With little thought such grief was near.
Only those who have lost loved ones can tell,
the pain and parting without farewell.

I will always remember Alan, he was a kind and gentle soul. I never saw Alan without a smile. He would do anything for you from praying for you to washing your car. I thank God he was allowed to pass through my life. D. Johnson
