Obituary for Anita Neal (Morrison)

Mrs. Anita Yvonne Morrison Neal, 71, of 1919 Gay Street, was born in Iredell County on May 4, 1949, and was the daughter of the late Clyde Wilbert Morrison and Cozie Hooiser Young. She departed this life on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Neal and a brother, Kenneth Andrew Young.
She attended Unity High School and as a member of Shiloh AME Zion Church. Her hobbies including cooking, talking and she loved her family and her dogs, Bear, Penny abnd Nene.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, one son, Kenneth D. Morrison of Statesville; four brohters, Clyde D. (Demetrius) Morrison, Terry (Sharon) Carson, Garry L. (Paula) Morrison and Craig A. (Gwendal) Morrison, all of Statesville; four sisters, Terri Anita Young of Statesville, Klydette (Frazier) Lowery of Gastonia, Cheryl A. (Roy) White of Harmony and Karen (Billy) Thompson of Harmony; six grandchildren, Brittney Scott, Daris Scott Tyrece Scott, Monique Morrison and Breshana Bennett, all of Statesville and Santana (Jonathan) Hyde of Clemons; a host of great grandchildren; one aunt, Jo Carolyn Morrison; special cousins, Pauline WHite, and Billy Parks; special friends, Brenda Curry, Geneva Gray and Elaine Wellman, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, November 21, 2020, at 12:00 noon, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Rev. J. Ruth Davis will officiate. Mrs. Neal will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home where public viewing will begin on Friday, November 20, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm and resume on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral home.
