Remembering the Life of
Annette Evelyn Mills Carruth

Annette Evelyn Mills Carruth, 82, was born on May 18, 1938, to the late Clyde and Addie Ferrin Mills. She departed this life on Monday, October 19, 2020, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C.

She graduated from Morningside School, and worked as a nursing assistant at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Annette attended Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir, and was a member of the Presbyterian Women. Annetteā€™s hobbies included traveling and playing bingo, and spending time with her children and grandchildren, who she loved dearly.

She was married to Roy Leon Carruth, who survives. In addition to her parents, Clyde and Addie Ferrin Mills, she was also preceded in death by two children , Leon Carruth and Victor Lee Carruth; four brothers, Grady Mills, Clinton Mills, Jay Lynn Mills, and John Mills; and three sisters, Ruth Leazer, Nadine Mills, and Alda Mae Parker.

Footchie, as she was affectionately called, leaves to cherish the memory of her life, in addition to her husband, Leon Carruth of the home; three sons, Rev. Rodger Mills Carruth (Sonya) of San Diego, California, Jeffrey Allen Carruth (Stephanie) of Lake Elsinore, California and Gerald Carruth Leazer of Statesville; two daughters, Marilyn Carruth Hall (Fred) of Indian Land, S.C. and Karen Carruth Cowan (Clyde) of Troutman, N.C.; three brothers-in-law, J.C. (Mamie) Carruth of Statesville, Harry Franklin Carruth and Willie Carruth (Darlene), both of Troutman; two sisters-in-law, Ella Carruth Davis and Ellene Carruth, both of Queens, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Roger Carruth, Jr. of San Jose, California, Naya Carruth of San Diego, California, Jeffry Carruth, II of Lake Elsinore, California, Jealah Carruth of Lake Elsinore, California, Tonja Hall Mays (Scott) of Winston-Salem, NC, and Tiffany Caldwell (Tony) of Mooresville, N. C.; great grandchildren, Tyler Mays and Chloe Mays, both of Winston-Salem, NC, Mikyla Carruth of San Diego, California, Ajanae Gibson, Zamar Gibson, Micah Caldwell, Savannah Caldwell, Nathan Caldwell and Israel Caldwell, all of Mooresville, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins , other relatives, Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church Family, neighbors and friends.
As long as life and memory last, we will remember you

A Celebration of Life will be conducted Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, Statesville, N.C. at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Timothy Porter, Pastor of Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, NC will officiate and Reverend Rodger Carruth will eulogize. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Cleveland, NC

There will be NO PUBLIC VISITATION (WAKE), unfortunately, with the COVID-19 Virus. We, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, along with other funeral homes across the country, have been issued a mandate to limit the number of family and/or friends at funeral services. YOU CAN ONLY ENTER THE FUNERAL WITH A FUNERAL PASS WHICH WILL BE GIVEN TO THE FAMILY.

GENERAL PUBLIC VIEWING WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2020, beginning from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and resume SATURDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 24, 2020, FROM 9:00 A.M. UNTIL THE FUNERAL HOUR.
