Obituary for Annie Mae Davidson

A smile for all, a heart of gold,
One of the finest this world could hold,
Never selfish, always kind,
These are the memories she leaves behind.

Ms. Annie Mae Davidson, 80, of Statesville, daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt Davidson, Sr. and Haldren Taggert Davidson, was born on January 21, 1942, in Statesville, NC. She departed this life on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

She attended Iredell County schools and enjoyed going to tent revivals with her mother. At one time she was employed by the VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four brothers, James Melvin Davidson, Theodore Roosevelt Davidson, Jr., Bill Tucker, and Sun Tucker; two sisters, Priscilla Rankin, and Joanne Miller.

She leaves to cherish. The memory of her life, two brothers, Ketto (Sheila) Davidson, and LaBron Davidson (caregiver); nine sisters, Cora Bell Knox of Salisbury, NC, Mae Lois Poole of St. Petersburg, FL, Mildred (Jerry) Patterson of Statesville, NC, Haldren Clark (caregiver) of Statesville, NC, Furrell J. Davidson of Mount Ulla, NC, Sharon (Michael) Cowan, (caregiver- special sister) of Mooresville, NC. Melinda (Dietrich) McDonald (caregiver) of Statesville, NC, Mary Satterfield-Laghrida and Margaret Satterfield both of Statesville, NC; three special nieces, Jacquelyn Patterson, Dr. Shalonda Davidson, Tatciana Cowan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted. Thursday, May 5th, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Members of the family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Pastor James Hunter will officiate, and burial will follow in Iredell Memorial Park.
