Barbara Ann Houser Bellamy, "Big Ann," 74, was born in Iredell County on March 15, 1948, to the late Robert Charles Houser, and Mary Frances Tomlin Houser. She departed this life on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
Barbara attended Morningside High School and she was a member of Mt. Vernon AME Zion church, where she served on the Deacon Board, the Usher Board, and a Class leader. Barbara worked at Wal-Mart in the Bakery department as a Cake Maker. She loved bird watching, thrift shopping, the Goodwill Stores and spending time with her family. She was married to Willie Bellamy, who survives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wade Franklin Tomlin, her sisters, Phyllis Houser and Evelyn Burton; sisters-in-law, Margaret Tomlin and Mary Jane Moten and her brothers-in-law, Alonzo Burton and Josephus Bellamy.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, her husband, Willie Rogers Bellamy; one son, Terry Anthony (Bonnie W.) Bellamy; one daughter, Tammy Bellamy Williams; three grandchildren, Terry (Valisa) Bellamy Jr, Omari J. Williams, and Jasmine Bellamy; two great grandchildren, Jordan Ross, and Jayden Ross; two brothers, Donnie (Paulette) Houser and Billy J. Whiteside, her in-laws, Hurbert (Louise) Bellamy, Walter Bellamy, Beaufort (Betty) Bellamy, Emmaline Bellamy and Joanne Morrison; special nieces, Susan Morrison, Tracy Tomlin, Kimberly M. Burton, Stephanie Nicole Tomlin, Shelia Gray, Cynthia Campbell, and Charlotte Bellamy; special nephews, Wade Ikard and Brian Burton; one godchild, Karter Jackson; a bonus grandson, Dazhur Batten; special friends, Catherine Patterson, Maggie Bailey, and Joyce Howard; her Mt. Vernon Church family; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rutledge and Bigham on Monday, October 24, 2022., at 12:00 p.m.. Visitation will be from 11-12:00 p.m.. Reverend Patrick Tate will eulogize, and Wade Ikard will officiate. Burial will follow in the Belmont cemetery.
