A smile for all, a heart of gold
One of the finest this world could hold
Never selfish, always kind
These are the memories she leaves behind…

Mrs. Bertha Mae Freeman, 83, was born in Iredell County on June 24, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Henry Garfield Parks and Mary Patterson Parks. She departed this life on Monday, January 18, 2021, at her home.
She attended Morningside School, and was employed by Burlington Mills for many years. She was a member of Living Water Ministry of Troutman. She loved to cook, especially baking cakes. She was the candy bar and soda lady of Bells Crossroad. She also loved to shoot and fish.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Artis Freeman, Sr., a son, Artis “Bobby” Freeman, Jr. and her brother, Billy G. Parks.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, her children, LaBria Freeman
Calvin Freeman, Lisa Freeman, Stevie Freeman and Cora
Lee Ramsey; two sisters, Linda Cowan and Margaret Pastor Jeffrey Wallace
Burch; special daughters-in-law, Yvonne Freeman and Diretha Freeman; her best friend, Mrs. Jean Norman; eighteen grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren and three great great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In tears we saw you sinking, and watched you fade away Our hearts were really broken because we wanted you to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping, so peacefully and free from pain How could we wish you back with us to suffer that again.
It breaks our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
Submitted with love,
Your family
