Obituary for Bertram Borders

Bertram Randolph "Randy" Borders, 62, of 305 Deaton Street, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Gordon Hospice House, Statesville, N.C. He was the son of Blanche Ikard Borders, and the late James Franklin Borders. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Ikard, and Rebecca Ikard; three brothers, Franklin Eugene "Hank" Borders, Samuel Renard "Pete" Ikard, and Charles Ikard.

He was a bell ringer for Statesville High School for many years and he followed his great niece, Jania Ikard,
and great nephews, Kelin Keaton and Nick Schofield, through their years of basketball and sports. He had a special relationship with a lot of his nieces and nephews.

Randy leaves to cherish the memories of his life, in addition to his mother, Blanche Ikard Borders; his sister, Jennie Ikard Keaton of Statesville; a special great niece, Jania Ikard of Charlotte; a step-son, Marcus Feimster of Statesville; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews including special nieces and nephews, a special friend and caregiver, Carol Linney; cousins, other relatives, neighbors and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary with Elder Brian Caines officiating. Members of the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 - 2:00 p.m. but will assemble at the residence at other times.
