Obituary for Bettie Viola Campbell (Jackson)

John 11:25-26. Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die."

Mrs. Bettie Viola Jackson Campbell, 73, was born in Rowan County on March 2, 1949 to the late Dave Jackson and Cora Lee Correy Jackson. She departed this life on on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Iredell Memorial Hospital, Statesville.

Bettie attended school in Rowan County and at one time was employed as a certified nursing assistant at a nursing home.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Bennett Campbell.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, one son, Willie James Phillips; one daughter, DaVikie (Dennis) Scott; two brothers, Nathaniel (Barbara Ann) Jackson, and Beauty (Sherry) Jackson; grandchildren, Kawaii Steele, Christopher Steele, Bremington Steele, Jasmine Phillips, Jamie Phillips, Justice Phillips, Ja'hari Phillips; special friends, Sallie Witt, Nancy Martin, Magelin Sharpe, Patricia Bines, Mary Steele, Joann Brown, Greater New Mt. Olive family; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the Greater New Mt. Olive Church, Statesville at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at the church. Pastor Carolyn Morrison will be officiating and Bishop Jackson will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow at the Belmont Cemetery, Statesville.
