Never selfish, always kind, these are the memories she leaves behind...

Ms. Carolyn Rebecca Brown, was born in Iredell County on November 30, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Perman Brown and Esther Annie Allison Brown. She departed this life on Sunday, April 10 2022, at the Gordon Hospice House, following an brief illness.

Carolyn was a graduate of Unity High, and attended Shaw University, majoring in Home Economics. She retired from Davis Community Hospital and Iredell Memorial Hospital, and then worked at several assisted living facilities in the area,. Carolyn will be truly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Alonzo White.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, her daughter, Emily B. (Jerome) Nesbit of Gastonia, NC; her grandson, Everette “Darnell” (Blair) Brown of Alamagordo, NM; two sisters, Willie B. Chambers and Tillie B. (Thomas) Murdock, both of Statesville; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary, at 12:00 p.m. The family visit with family and friends from 11:30-12:00 pm. Rutledge and Bigham is serving the Brown family.
