Obituary for Charles Edward Mayberry

The Family Tribute
Charles Edward Mayberry, 64, of 186 Eufola Road, Statesville, was born in Alexander County on October 18, 1955, an was the son of the late Walter and Quay Mauney Mayberry. He departed this life at his home on Friday, May 22, 2020, unexpectedly.
He attended Alexander County Schools and was a member Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church. He was employed by the Auto Auction.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Mayberry and a brother, Jerry Mayberry. He like fishing, mowing grass, frying fish outside in the summer and he loved his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his wife, Emily Watts Mayberry of the home; two sons, Isaac Elton Mayberry and Todd Edward Mayberry, both of the home; three brothers, Cecil (Valerie) Mayberry of Statesville, Melvin Mayberry and Leon (Claudette) Mayberry, both of Taylorsville; five sisters, Christine (Dave) Stokes and Moize Parker, both of Stony Point, Gwen Mayberry, Wanda Mayberry and Denise Mayberry, all of Taylorsville; five sisters-in-law, Mary Eunice Watts, Ruby Watts, Ella Watts, Dorothy Seymore and Lou Ann Watts, all of Statesville; one uncle, Herbert (Louria) Mayberry of Statesville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, the Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church Family, neighbors and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Friday, May 29, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Reverend Dietrich M. Danner will officiate and burial will follow in the Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
General Public viewing will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020 until 7:00 p.m. and resume on Friday, May 29, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
There will be NO PUBLIC VISITATION, unfortunately, with the COVID-19 Virus we, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, along with other funeral homes across the country, have been issued a mandate to limit the number of family and/or friends at funeral services. YOU CAN ONLY ENTER THE FUNERAL WITH A FUNERAL PASS WHICH WILL BE GIVEN TO THE FAMILY.
