Christine Pruitt Lazenby
Christine Pruitt Lazenby, 74, of Woodleaf, North Carolina was born on February 19, 1946 in Davidson County and was the daughter of the late John Matthew Pruitt and Evelyn Vinson Pruitt. She departed this life on January 20, 2021.
She was a 1963 graduate of R.A. Clement High School and attended Business College. She was retired from the food service industry and was a member of Knox Grove Baptist Church. She was proceeded in death by her two brothers, Samuel Pruitt and Sylvester Pruitt; and a sister, Elizabeth Neely.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, a wonderful husband, Willie James Lazenby Jr. of Woodleaf, NC; two sons, Timothy B. (Susan) Lazenby of Concord, NH and Dwayne C. Lazenby of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Vera Eller of Salisbury, NC and Dorothy Fowler of Jamaica, NY; two brothers, Walter Pruitt of Washington, D.C. and E. Victor (Monica) Pruitt of Lanexa, Virginia; three granddaughters, Jessica Lazenby of Salisbury, NC, Keisha Mock of Kernersville, NC, and Alexis Lazenby of Chesapeake, VA; three grandsons, Anthony Gadson of Woodleaf, NC, DeAndre’ Lazenby of Salisbury, NC, and Andrew Lazenby of Chesapeake, VA; seven greatgrandchildren, Layla Mayo, Kayceion Lazenby, Josiah Gadson, Alexis Gadson, Yalivia McCoy, the twins Daylen and Dylan Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. Reverend James Millsaps will officiate and burial will follow in the Knox Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Cleveland, NC.
General Public Viewing will be 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday and resume on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
There will be NO PUBLIC VISITATION (WAKE), unfortunately, with the COVID-19 Virus. We, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, along with other funeral homes across the country, have been issued a mandate to limit the number of family and/or friends at funeral services.
