Obituary

Romans 6:23 " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life."

A smile for all, a heart of gold, One of the finest this world could hold
Never selfish, always kind, These are the memories he leaves behind…

Mr. Clarence Jones, 66, of 1224 Sena Lane, Statesville, departed this life on Monday, July 20, 2020. He was born in Iredell County on October 26, 1953, and was the son of the late Clarence Chambers and Katherine Jones.

Affectionately known as Cartoonic or Junie, attended Unity High School and North Iredell High School He worked at Acme Metal and Slide for 47 years, as a machine operator and attended Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sylvia Smith.

He leaves to cherish the memories of his life, five brothers, Robert Barber of Elkin, Richard Jones, Dennis Chambers, and Perry Price, all of Statesville, and Anthony Chambers, of Harmony; one brother-in-law, Bernard Smith; two sisters, Barbara Ann (Leon) Smith, of Florida, and Shirley Barber, of Statesville; three aunts, Essie Steele, Virginia Campbell, and Sarah Daye, all of Statesville; special cousin, Wayne Nichols; a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Miss Me, But Let Me Go!!
When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room, why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little – but not too long and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared, miss me – but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take and each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan, a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds,
MISS ME – BUT LET ME GO!
We miss you with all our love.
