Ms. Daphne Lynn Barnes, 60, was born in Catawba County, on April 4, 1962, and was the daughter of the late Cleveland Anderson Barnes and Lula Mae Shuford Barnes. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, NC.
Daphne was a High School graduate and was employed with Amesbury Manufacturing company in Statesville, as a weaver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Barnes.
She leaves to cherish the memories of her life: the love of her life, DeWayne Blair of Statesville, a son, Jalen Christian Barnes of Statesville; a daughter, Alana Danielle Blair Barnes of Statesville; three brothers, Cleveland (Roslyn) Barnes, of Baltimore, Harry Barnes, of Charlotte, and Tim Barnes; one sister, Denise Barnes of Statesville; two stepchildren, Justin Blair of Statesville and LaToya Turner of Raleigh; three step grandchildren, Zymere Walters, Miah Turner and Kendle Adams, all of Raleigh; her mother-in-love, LaFonda Blair of Statesville; two best friends, Felicia Thrasher and Debbie Bennett; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends, including the Gaither family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022, at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary, Statesville, N.C.. Visitation will be held from 11-12:00 pm, Reverend Winford Griffin will officate and Minister Carolyn Wilson will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Belmont cemetery.
