Obituary for Darnell Allison

Philippians 1:21 " For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain"

Mr. Darnell Franklin Allison, 43, affectionately known as "Don", was born in Mecklenburg County, on May 31, 1978, to Sharon "Dianne" Allison, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Tony Allison; three uncles, Ronnie E. Allison, Tony "Curtis" Allison, and James "Stan" Allison.

Darnell attended Iredell County schools, and he graduated from North Iredell High School in 1996. He attended Mitchell Community College for Business Management, and served in the United States Army. Darnell was an Oakland Raiders football fan, and he loved vintage cars like his uncle Stan. He was employed as a Quality Control engineer, at William T. Burnett & Co., and Fast Phil's Convenient Stores. Darnell loved his family and will truly be missed.

Darnell leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his mother, Diane Allison, of the home; three children, Preston Allison (Jasmine), Tyrek McClelland (Imiraca), and Arianna Allison; one granddaughter, Emerald; his maternal grandmother, Rachel E. Allison; four aunts, Debra A. (Robert) Daniels, Sonja A. Smith, Tonya Allison and Twana Allison; two uncles, Donnie E. (Bonnie) Allison, and Robert Wayne(Terica Donnell) Allison; a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

It seems so unreal that you are gone
When just the other day
You walked and talked and laughed with us
Then suddenly slipped away
Your peaceful smile, your joyful laugh
How sweet the memory still
Your parting left an aching void
Only God’s love can fill.


A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Rutledge and Bigham funeral home, at 2:00 p.m.. Visitation will be held from 1:30 - 2:00 p.m.. Mr. Allison will only be viewed by his mother and three children. Burial will follow in the Belmont cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.rutledgeandbigham.com.
