Mr. David Fitzgerald Hyde,33, son of Robert Fitzgerald Stevenson and Virginia Ann Hyde Ellis, was born in Iredell County on April 8, 1988. He departed this life on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
He was a 2007 graduate of West Iredell High School and prior to his death he was employed by Sherwin Williams as a Material Handler. He was a member of Knox Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a member of the Choir and as a Young Adult Missionary.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angel J. Hyde and his grandparents, James Hyde, Rodney Stevenson and Barbara Stevenson.
In addition to his father, Robert (Paula) Stevenson and his mother, Virginia Ann (Robert) Ellis, he leaves to cherish the memory of his life, a sister, Lersonda Ellis of Statesville; a step-brother, Robert Ellis, Jr. of South Carolina; his step-sisters, Dominique (Jeffery) Little, Sade Blackwood, and Patrice Blackwood, all of Mooresville, LaBraina Phillips and Lorena Phillips, both of Statesville, and Latosha (Bobby) Rome II of Ohio; uncles, Rodney Stevenson, Jr., Reverend Tim (Tonya) Stevenson, Kenny (Wanda) Stevenson and David (Monikki) Stevenson, Dewayne Hyde and James Hyde; aunts, Faye Stevenson, Carla Stevenson, Vera (Kenny) Cuthbertson, Janie Hyde, Gondora (Roger) Christian and Jackie Hyde (Phistin Moril); great aunts and uncles, Mae Emma Ruthford, Arilla (Larry) Dobbins, Maggie Turner, Virginia Lazenby, Gail Morgan and Gwen Morgan; a great aunt, Geraldine Wallace; nieces, Supriya Nichols, and Zoey Phillips; nephews, Jackson Daniels, Bobby Rome, III., Kareen Stevenson and Kemone Phillips; host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Sunday, February 6, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at Knox Grove Baptist Church in Cleveland, NC. Rev. James Millsaps will officiate and burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mr. Hyde will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 12:30 p.m., but will assemble at the residence, 2502 1st Street, Statesville, at other times.
