Obituary for Desmond Jaleel Hayes

The Family Tribute
Desmond Jaleel Hayes, beloved son of Alicia Denene Daye and Chaz Rashad Dawkins, was born in Iredell County on March 7, 2019. He departed this life on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, in Statesville following an accident.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred Daye, Maylene Hayes, Ruffus Winbush, John “JD” Feimster and Charles Dawkins.

In addition to his mother, Alicia Denene Daye and his father, Chaz R. Dawkins; he leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his siblings, (twin sister) Diamond Hayes, Da’nasia Hayes, Da’ziyah Hayes, Dynasty Hayes, Destiny Hayes, Promise McDonald, Kaiden Dawkins, Kahlil Dawkins and Lyric Dawkins; his godfather, Martevis Simpson of Statesville; his grandfather, Danny Feimster; his grandmothers, Deborah Daye and Tandra Dawkins; great grandmothers, Sarah Daye, Sandra Johnson Peet and Eugenia Feimster; his aunts and uncles, Josette Daye, Jabar (Melissa) Daye, Renee (David Powell) Winbush, Watson Grady Graham, III, Teya Dawkins, Tony Young, Shaleecia Daye and Deborah Daye; a host of cousins including Mojanika Daye, Jakiyah Jones, Jabari Daye, Reniya Powell, Maison Daye, Keimaury Roseboro, Savannah Young, Ziyonnah Young, Tony Young, Kiyan Roseboro and Des’Miya Savoy; a host of other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Thursday, April 15, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Calvary Chapel Lake Norman110 Moose Club Road, Statesville. Pastor Carl Ubinas will officiate and Pastor Glenn J. Usry will eulogize. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
