Mrs. Dorothy Ann Shuford Imes, affectionately known as "Dot", was born December 25, 1957, in Iredell County, and was the daughter of the late Eddie Lee Shuford, and Willie Mae Cowan. She passed away on September 22, 2020, following a brief illness.
Dot attended South Iredell High School, and was employed at JPS composite for sixteen years. She was united with Bibleway #6 Church, and she loved her family, playing spades, and being there for everyone.
In addition to her parents, the late Eddie Lee Shuford, and Willie Mae Cowan, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Trinia Shuford; one granddaughter, Falisa Shuford; a sister, Gloria Moss; a mother-n-law, Beaulah Imes; a father-n-law, James Murdock; and a sister-n-law, Sibil Imes.
Dorothy leaves to cherish the memories of her life, her husband, Stephen Imes of the home; three sons, Lee (Jamila) Abrams of Grand prairie, Texas, Michael (Gloria) Shuford of Hickory, NC and Lamont (Crystal) Shuford of Smith Station, Alabama; one daughter, Tilisa Shuford (Byron) House of the home; one stepdaughter, Olivia Rucker of Statesville, NC; four brothers, Herman Bines, Jr. of Conover, Robert ( Sonya) Cowan pf Statesville, Willie Tony Shuford of Statesville, and Raymond Leach of Conover; two sisters, Mary Shuford Alston and Rosa (Michael) Glover, both of Statesville; one adopted sister, Jo Lavern Tomblin of Salisbury, NC; sixteen grandchildren, Molisa (Kentrel) Kenney, Jason Shuford and Robert Shuford, Jaliyah Abrams and Jayla Abrams all of Statesville, Ethen Shuford, Jaylan Shuford, Antwan Shuford and Jacob Shuford, all of Smith Station, Alabama, Yazmen Leazer of Mooresville, NC, Makayla Shuford, Michael Shuford, and Ramie Shuford, all of Statesville, Camari Shuford and Crystal Shuford, both of Hickory, and Mojanika Daye of Atlanta, Ga; four great grands, Kenneth Jones, Jr., Kentrel Kenney, Jr., and Kentreius Kenney, all of Statesville, and Maison Daye of Atlanta, Ga; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
