Obituary for Ervin Roy "Robert" Leach

Mr. Ervin Roy "Robert" Leach, 66, was born in Iredell County on Wednesday, February 29, 1956, to the late Carnell William Leach and Mary Katherine Moss Leach. He departed this life on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
He graduated from Theology School and was employed as a supervisor at Parkdale Mills. He was a member of the Mount Moriah Holiness Church where he served as a Deacon, a member of the finance committee, church board, worship leader, and teacher.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Leach Neal.
He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, three brothers, David Carnell Leach of Troutman, John Lewis Leach (Della) of Statesville, and Jerry Wayne (Pastor Angela) Leach of Statesville; one sister, Willie Mae (Bishop Gene) Roseman; two uncles, Johnny Leach of Mt. Ulla, and George Moss of Kannapolis; three aunts, Louise Leach of Troutman, Louise Moss of Statesville, and Ervenia Stockton of Salisbury; eighteen nieces and nephews, Alisha (Gene) Clowney, Sondra Roseman, David “Spooky” (Von) Leach, Genetta Leach, Lenetta leach, Sylvia (Norman) Goodes, Tosha (Chavis) Maxwell, Tina (Christopher) Moore, Tinka Leach, LaKisha Weeks, Kenya Wade, Bernisha Cunningham, Chazman Houston, Justin Lavar Houston, Randell (Von) Neal, Donell Neal, Selina Neal; fifty-five great nieces and nephews; twenty two great great great nieces and nephews; longtime friend and caretaker, Sandra Matthews; special family, Maw Maw, Paw Paw, and the entire Plummer family and a host of other relatives, church family and friends.
In tears we saw you sinking, and watched you fade away
Our hearts were really broken, because we wanted you to stay
But when we saw you sleeping so peacefully and free from pain.
How could we wish you back with us to suffer that again.
It breaks our hearts to lose you but you did not go alone
For part of us went with you the day God called you home
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 1:00 pm, at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary, Statesville. Visitation will be from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Shepherd's Church of God Cemetery, Statesville.
