Mr. Forrest Lafonn Minor, 66, of 1008 Suncrest Ave., Statesville, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020, at his residence. He was born in Iredell County on June 18, 1954, and was the son of the late Eugene Minor and Lorene Gray Minor.
He attended Morningside High School and at one time was employed by Merchant Metals. He was a gifted musician, a guitar player and worked through various churches including New Life Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Moore and one brother, Jerry Minor. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Denny Minor, who survives.
He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, in addition to his wife, Carolyn Minor; four step-children, Detria Denny, Anitra Denny and Adrian Lowery, all of Mooresville and Joe Lowery of Charlotte; his siblings, Doris Joyce, Shirley McClain, Ken Minor and Roy A. Minor, all of Statesville and Sylvia Minor of High Point; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Steve Denny of Mooresville, Maryland Little of Mt. Airy, Alferia "Talmadge" Conner of Mooresville; this grandchildren, Deante Denny, Jekarre Jones, Arianna Lowery, Josiah Lowery, Adrian Lowery, Jr., Adriana Lowery and Xavier Hoyle; several great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Tewanna Myers will officiate and Minister Keisha Minor Carr will eulogize with burial to follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
There will be NO PUBLIC VISITATION, unfortunately, with the COVID-19 Virus we, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, along with other funeral homes across the country, have been issued a mandate to limit the number of family and/or friends at funeral services.
