Mrs. Hazel Foote Simpson, beloved daughter of the late Major and Zula Foote, was born on April 8, 1924. She departed this life on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.
Hazel, better know to the family as "Mom", helped to raise several of her grandkids. She worked at Barnhardt for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cottrell Simpson, three daughters, Julia Simpson, Lois Daye and Helen Turner; three sisters, Della Dula, Nannie Freeman and Irene Murdock; three brothers, Jim Foote, Henry Foote and Joe Foote; several gramdchildren including, Alexis Murdock and Amora “Bella” White.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Dr. Charles Simpson will officiate and Elder Larry Woods will eulogize. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
Mrs. Simpson will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home where members of the family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
