Obituary for James Willie Parks

James Willie Parks Sr, 88, of 315 Jericho Rd. Harmony, departed this life on Wednesday, November 18th, 2020 surrounded by his grandchildren. He was born in Iredell County on November 17th, 1932 and was the son of the Late Laura Parks.

He was married to Pastor Ella Louise Parks, who preceded him in death and later married Eloise Ijames Parks. In addition to his first wife, he was also preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Sheila Keaton, his sister, Roberta Smyre, his brother, Alfred Parks, three grandchildren, Timothy Gillespie, Michael Parks, and Anthony Dre Parks. He was the co-founder of Miracle Faith Towers.

In addition to his wife, Eloise, he is survived by three sons, James (Lesia) Parks Jr., Pastor Clyde (Angela) Parks, both of Harmony, Mark (Tina) Parks of Loray, and a son-in-law Alfonzo Keaton of Woodleaf; five daughters, Pastor NaeAnna (Ray) Smith, Lavender (Zachary) Parker, and Laura Parks, all of Statesville, Margaret (Charles) Davidson of Troutman, and Vanessa (Pablo) Lopez of the home; his stepchildren, Vincent Ijames and Corey Ijames; his grandchildren, Octavia Wilson, Amanda Keaton, Alphonzo Keaton Jr., Tratina Gillespie, Gerrie Gillespie, Derrick (Sophia) Gillespie, Alicia (Timothy) Leach, Natasha (Sherman) Phifer, Samuel Gillespie, Chona (Eric) Cheek, Porshae (Ryan) Johnson, Shaquana Parks, Shoka Davidson, Yashica (Rickey) Long, T’Sha (J.C.) Harrison, Chuckie (LaToya) Davidson, Jamaica Parks, Shamaica Parks, Camryn Tyler, Lesia Hawkins, Champale Parks, Jessica Parks, Rachel (Derek) Robinson, Scottie Davidson, Brittany Bennett, Clyde Lazenby, Shelton Parks, Aaron Parks, Raphael Adams, Mark Parks, Jr., James Parks, Niesha (Keevin) Mullings, Cameron Ijames, Kayla Ijames, and Ja’Bria Summers; forty-four great-grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; special friends, Apostle O.C. Coleman II, Marion Perry, Barbara Dixon, Bishop J.T. Byers, Overseer Virginia Byers, Bishop A.W. Brown, Prophetess Shirley Nelson, others he helped raise as his own, David Smyre, McGraw Wilson, his godchildren, Tiffany Padilla, Patsy Poe, Khrystina Smith; his caretakers, Candice Smith, his son-in-law, Pablo Lopez; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.


A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at 1:00 pm at Miracle Faith Towers, Statesville, with burial at Iredell Memorial Park, Statesville. Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home is serving the Parks family. John 14 "Let not your hearts be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."
