Obituary for Johnnie Bell McClelland

John 11:25-26 "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believeth thou this?

Ms. Johnnie Bell McClelland of 112 Tiffany Lane, Statesville, was born in Iredell County on April 15, 1949, and was the daughter of the late John William McClelland and Mary Kate Dunlap McClelland. She departed this life on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, following a brief illness.

She was a 1967 graduate of Unity High School and was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Baptist Church where she served as an Usher, Missionary, Trustee, and a member of the Choir. She loved Bingo and just enjoyed her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Shirley McClelland and Harry McClelland.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, two goddaughters, Amallye Moore and Michelle Ellis, both of Statesville; one brother, Joe William McClelland of Statesville; one sister, Thelma (James) Oakley of Statesville; a sister-in-law, Deborah McClelland of Statesville; uncles and aunts, Nathaniel (JoAnn) Dunlap, Pauline Byers and Margaret Shipp, all of Statesville and Rev. Modean Dunlap of Stony Point; a host of nieces and nephews, Nikki (Michael) Morris of Baltimore, Maryland, Patrick McClelland, Kim (Vivian) McClelland, Tonya McClelland, Steven (Simone) Bailey, and April Bowman; great nieces and great nephews; Ty McClelland, Amallye Moore, Donovan McClelland, Tiffany McClelland, Michael Morris, Maliya Morris, Tristian Bailey, Christian Bailey and Noel Bailey, special cousins, Betty Morrison, Natalie Dunlap Mott, Shirley Brown and Kathy Barringer; special friends, Lillian Rucker, Betty Bennett and Melvina Ijames, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and dear friends.

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord II Corinthians 5:8
submitted with love by your
brother, William and your sister, Thelma.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Sunday, November 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Baptist Church. Reverend Derrick Clemons will officiate and burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
