Obituary for Kassaundra Elaine Harris (Howell)

Mrs. Kassaundra Elaine Howell Harris, 66, was born in Iredell County on October 15, 1953, an was the daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret Louise Woods Howell. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 5, 2020, at Novant Health in Huntersville, NC, following an extended illness.
She attended Statesville Senior High School and was a member of Freedom Church International. A loving mother and grandmother, she will be missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Robin Howell.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, Sherman Harris of Statesville; two children, Tory (Corrie) Howell and Tanesha MaChay Howell, both of Statesville; three brothers, Lee Allen (Elaine) Woods, Eric Howell and Barry Howell, all of Statesville; one sister, Patricia (William) English of Rock Hill, S.C.; eleven grandchildren, Latoya (Joself) Daniels, Rochelle Parks, Randolph Camp, Ashley Camp, Christian (Carissa) Bailey, Sade Howell, Latoya Howell, Diamond (Travis Jr.) Daniels, Derrick Howell, Tory Howell, Jr., and Dondre Howell; thirty-one great grandchildren, Laila Daniels, Harvey Josiah Daniels, Joself Daniels, Jr., Rashad Howell, Amari Leach, Ariana Leach, Aidyn Leach, Dreyon Howell, Kaden Howell, NaTori Howell, Masiah Nichols, Shamiah Nichols, Latreal Nichols, Angel Campos, Shaniyah Caldwell, Kieyon Robinson, Niciona McGill, Noriah McGill, JV Bailey, Ahmir Howell, Jahmir Bailey, Karsyn Bailey, Delena Bailey, Anna Howell, NiZyon Howell, TyDarion Howell, Derrick Howell, Jr., Travis (Trey) Daniels, III, Ivry Ahna Daniels, Cashious Daniels, Melvin Camp, and Montre Ellison; a god daughter, Lakisha Byers; three aunts, Joyce Brown, Nadean Holmes and Mary Bailey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including Pastor Penny Harris, Candy Houpe, Pastor Deborah Graham, Pastor Sadie Campbell, Betty Burton and Shirley Brown.


Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, Statesville. Pastor Surtonia Burton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery. Members of the family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Tory and Corrie Howell, 738 Park Drive, Statesville, at all other times.
