Ms. Mary Lourine Williams
A smile for all, a heart of gold, one of the finest this world could hold
Never selfish, always kind, these are the memories she leaves behind…

Ms. Mary Lourine Williams, was born in Mingo County, West Virginia on April 30, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Herbert Louis Williams and Arcie Edna Rucker Williams. She passed away at her home in Mooresville, North Carolina on Sunday, May 10, 2020, from complications of COPD.
She was a graduate of Liberty High School in West Virginia and was a member of Rugged Cross Baptist Church in New York. She was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother. In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by her long-time companion and husband, Timothy Taylor; a son, Tyrone Williams, a great grandchild, Dondi Veomans; four brothers, Herbert Williams, Jr., Cephas Williams, Sr. Thomas Williams and Johnny Williams, Sr; three sisters, Lucille Knox, Ellen Allen and Ethel English.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, three children, Mimi (Ethian Perkins) Yvette Epps of Brooklyn, New York, Pamela (Darrell) Mercer-Simmons of the home and Timothy Omar (Crystal) Taylor of Charlotte,; two sisters, Reverend Peggy Ann (Lloyd) Sharpe of Brooklyn, New York and Nokomis (Steven) Williams of Charlotte; godchildren, Lisa Moore, Tange Jett, Jeremiah Sharpe, and Charlene Lytton; grandchildren, Steven Bowe, Nokomis Williams, Jazzell Banes, Malinda Johnson, Niasia Williams, Kendu Williams, Ashera Taylor, Nyokka Whitfield, Shaylanique (Omari Sanders, Sr.) Epps, Joseph Epps, Tyree Epps, Lynqusha Perkins, Rasheen Mercer, Daquan Letik Taylor, Jasmine Nicole Taylor Isaialt Mercer, Ragheen Mercer, Jr., and Timia Faith Taylor; great grandchildren, Erin Bowe, Alexis Scott, Shaydai Harris, Jaiden Harris, Maliyah Epps, Aiden Epps, Ashley Epps, Isim Sanders, Amari Sanders, Imani Sanders, Jurnee Sanders, Mya Whitfield, Ramell Whitfield, Anthony Murray, Mia Johnson, Nahrij Whitfield; Skylar Sanders, Shanice (Keshawna) Johnson, Tyrone Johnson, Charisma Williams, Shawn Williams, Sophia Blocken, Nydia Campbell, Koran Campbell, Makell Campbell, Dior Willilams, Jayden Monroe, Terrance Monroe and Chris Monroe; great great grandchildren, Zagan Johnson, Aleena Johnson, Tyrone Johnson, Nehemiah Johnson, Shanai Williams, Shanala Williams and Shamyra Mitchell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be conducted Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at The Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel of Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Pastor Angela Leach will officiate and burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery.
There will be NO PUBLIC VISITATION, unfortunately, with the COVID-19 Virus we, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, along with other funeral homes across the country, have been issued a mandate to limit the number of family and/or friends at funeral services. YOU CAN ONLY ENTER THE FUNERAL WITH A FUNERAL PASS WHICH WILL BE GIVEN TO THE FAMILY.

I love you Auntie!!! I remember I was at Grandma Lucille House on Kosciusko Street and some one at the store bothered me and I came back crying you took me by my hand and said you are of Williams family and nobody mess with the Williams family and you was my hero that day and I understood where my behavior came from!! I felt right at home and I embraced my entire self that day! Auntie you named me TRISMA the only one in the world and every time someone asks me where my name come from I tell Them my Aunt named me! Rest In Peace Auntie and thank you for my unique name! It may me stand above the crowd!!!!

Aunt Mary's greens on Thanksgiving. So so so delicious!!! And, the infamous gathering @ Thorp Avenue with the family. I was a little guy then but such a rememorable time. You can always hear Aunt Mary above everyone esle. She was always hugs and kisses when she see you.
