Obituary

Psalm 30:5 " My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up." For his anger endureth but a mometh, in his favour is life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning"

Meshia Kifha Howard, was born in Iredell County on March 20, 1980, and was the daughter of David “Brown” Mott and Angela Faye Howard Holmes. She departed this life at her home on Thursday, April 23, 2020, unexpectedly.
She attended Statesville High School and at one time was employed by Elmer’s Glue. She was preceded in death by an aunt, Ardell Von Howard; a cousin, Santana Wright; her grandfather, Hosea Howard; and her grandmother, Bernice Mott Brown.
In addition to her mother, Angela Faye and her father, David (Natalie) Brown Mott, she leaves to cherish the memory of her life her special friend, Eric S. Thibou of New York; ten children, Antaniqua Smith of Winston-Salem, Kadeya Howard of Statesville, Derrion Turner of Raleigh, Shi’Vontae Howard, O’Marion Howard, Eryana Howard, Eric Thibou, Jr., Erica Thibou, Shakai David Mott and Egypt Thibou, all of Statesville; four brothers, Tony Moten, Tim (Alisha) Moten, Samuel DaPrice Saddler and Mario (Shameka) Caldwell, all of Statesville; three sisters, Phatara Howard, Jamie (Eric) Wilson and DaShonn Knox, all of Statesville; her grandmother, Alice Clark Howard of the Statesville her aunts, Tabitha (Patrick) Clyburn, Saundra Summers, Lois Dawkins, and Rosetta Smyre; great aunts and great uncles, Linda Hammons, Jerome (Kim) Howard, Ronald (Lisa) Howard, Furman (Ann) Mott, Sam (Gay) Mott, Thelma (Gary) Hall, James Clark, and William Clark; her godmother, Terry McClelland and family; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

It seems so unreal that you are gone,
When just the other day,
You walked and talked and laughed with us
Then suddenly slipped away.
Your peaceful smile, your joyful laugh
How sweet the memory still;
Your parting left an aching void
This world will never fill

I did not know Ms. Media but felt compelled to send my heartfelt condolences to the Howard (Thibou) family. May you find comfort knowing that our Heavenly Father cares for you and will comfort you during this time. (2Corinthians 1:3,4; 2Thessalonians 2:16,17) Meshia was such a beautiful person and will be missed by all. Jesus gave us a wonderful hope that we may see our loved ones again when he said at John 5:28,29 that there will be a resurrection. May we keep our eyes on the promises of our Heavenly Father who promised that one day no one will say I am sick, (Isaiah 33:24) and that all our pain, sorrow and even death will be no more. (Revelation 21:3,4) Many prayers are with the family. May you have peace.
