Obituary for Michael Peco Linney

Revelation 21:4 " And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

Mr. Michael Peco Linney
A smile for all, a heart of gold,
one of the finest this world could hold
Never selfish, always kind;
these are the memories he leaves behind…

Michael “Peco” Linney, 51, was born in Iredell County on June 13, 1971, to DeHaven Foote Reeves and the late James Cordell Linney. He departed this life on Monday, April 24, 2023.

He attended West Iredell High School and was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was employed as a cook at the Chicken Hut and enjoyed working on cars. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar Foote, Mildred Foote, and Gerald Foote; and his uncles and aunts, James Linney, Andrea Stockton, William Linney, Sr., Beulah Linney and Elizabeth “Libby” Pearson.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his mother, DeHaven Foote Linney Reeves of Cleveland, NC; two brothers, James (Darci Faye) Linney of Charlotte, NC, and Shawn McCombs of Mooresville, NC; two sisters, Kimberly Linney of Olin, NC, and Andrea Carpenter of Charlotte, NC; aunts and uncles, Gail Linney Powell, Anita Linney, John Linney, Charles (Margaret) Neal, Sr., Leon Pearson; Gail Tucker, Sandra Foote, Crystal Foote, Tewana Foote Allison, John Redmon, Andrian Murray, Calvin Foote, Oscar Foote Jr., and Michael Wasson; godmother, Vanessa Ellison; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends.

It seems so unreal that you are gone
When just the other day.
You walked and talked and laughed with us
Then suddenly slipped away
Your peaceful smile, your joyful laugh
How sweet the memory still
Your parting left an aching void
Only God’s love can fill.
Lovingly submitted, The Family
