Mr. Nathan Raynard Chambers, 59, of Mt. Pleasant, was born in Iredell County on February 19, 1962, and was the son of Lola Ann Lawrence Chambers and the late Elmore Chambers. He passed away at Atrium Health in Concord, NC on Sunday, June 6, 2021, following an extended illness.

"Bump" as he was affectionately called, was educated in the Iredell County School System. He graduated from South Iredell High School. At the time of his death, he was employed by FedEX.

In addition to his father, Elmore Chambers, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bernin and Lillie Chambers, Mary Norman and Lloyd Cowan; a brother, Robert Elmore Chambers and his mother-in-law, Eumilla Ann Sturgis. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Powell Chambers, who survives.

Bump leaves to cherish fond memories; his wife, Mary Ann Powell Chambers of the home; three sons, Marcus McKee, Elijah (Charmeka) Powell and Nathan J. (Gabby) Chambers; a daughter, Tomekia N. (Derek) Friday; his siblings, Pastor Terry (Craig)_Price, Theressa Banks, Tina Phifer, and Tonya Chambers; five grandchildren, Erykah Friday, Sanaa Friday, Cassius Friday, Da’quan Lamont McKee, and Nyaza Sakiya McKee; a great grandchild, Santana Nyjaee Lamont McKee; two fathers-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James White and Billy Ray Sturgis; brothers-in-law, Reggie Klutz of Washington DC, Tyrone Klutz and Darrell Klutz; a sister-in-law, Sharon Sturgis; his best friends, Mike and Tracy Misenheimer, Goffer Curry, and Latoya Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in gloom-filled rooms,
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little--but not too long,
And not with your head bowed low;
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me--but let me go.
