Quentin Damar Willis, 40, was born in Iredell County on November 22, 1981, and was the son of the late Charles "Boo" Lackey, and Blanche Willis. He departed this life on September 21, 2022, at Atrium Health, Wake Forest, in Winston Salem, N.C.
He attended Statesville High School and was employed at a Furniture Company, as a warehouse worker. He loved basketball, football, family vacations, and loved hanging out with his family and friends. Quentin’s favorite football team was the San Francisco 49'ers. In addition to his father, Charles Lackey, he was preceded in death by his grandparents; William (Bessie) McKinley Lackey, Jr., Albert (Annette) Clayton; uncles; James Curtis Moore, Jimmy Lackey, Keith Lackey, and Roy Lee Adams; aunts, Denise Clayton, and Darlene Clayton.
Quentin leaves to cherish the memory of his life, in addition to his mother, Blanche Willis, grandmothers; Fannie Moore, and Natalie Marsh; his step-father, Steve Ramseur; step-mother, Joyce Ann Lackey; two sons Quentin Willis, Jr. and Jayceon Williams, three daughters, Quenshana Willis, Quemari Willis, and Quenasia Willis; one brother, Tyson Byers; two sisters; Starr Ellison, and Aleah Lackey; three grandchildren, Legend Willis, Legacy Willis, and La'rell Stroman; uncles, Exodus Moore III, Daris Moore, Derwin Moore, Rickie Lackey, Eddie Lackey, Jackie Moore, Larry Lackey, Wesley Lackey, Garry Lackey, Albert Clayton, Jr., Wallace Willis, Michael Bost, and Walter Clayton; aunts; Jacqueline Bell, Valerie (John) Templeton, Stephanie Moore, Brenda Nesbit, Paulette Rankin, Barbara Lackey, Avis Turner, Quanita Bost, Juliette Clayton, Nannette Reid, Debra Blackwell and Teresa Clayton; his fiancé; Mia Drummer; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at Christian Outreach of the Piedmont, Statesville, N.C., at 2:00 p.m., and Pastor Selma Reid Lytle, will officiate.
