Obituary for Ronald Smith

Ronald Michael Smith, affectionately called Ronnie, was born in Iredell County on July 27, 1949 and was the son of the late Horace William Smith Sr. and Mary Rinehardt Smith. He departed this life on Monday, August 24, 2020, at Maple Leaf Nursing Home, Statesville, following an extended illness.

Ronald graduated from North Iredell High School, in 1967. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Eugene Smith, Jody Smith, Marlone Brandon Smith, and Horace "Spike" Smith; five nephews, Ronald “Keith” Smith, Steven Smith, Garrick Watkins, Michael Smith, and Marlon Smith.

He leaves to cherish the memories of his life, two brothers, Roger (Sandra) Smith of Statesville and Freddie Scott of Mooresville; two sisters, Lorna (Robert) Ramseur and Denise (Garry) Feimster, both of Statesville; one sister-in-law, Cathy Smith of Statesville, two aunts, Edna Steel, and Barbara (Andre) Pettis, both of Statesville; six nieces, Shauntay (Adrian) Cloud and Michelle Ramseur, both of Charlotte, Tanya Clark, Sharon Smith, and Lakisha (Cornelius) Sawyer, all of Statesville, and Tammy (Lonzo) Robertson of Detriot, Michigan; seven nephews, Kim Valentine of Kansas City, Shannon Feimster of Columbus, Ohio, Robert (Billie) Ramseur, Jr., Adonis Blackwell, Timothy Moore, Marques White, and Shawn Mull, all of Statesville; a host of cousins, relatives, and other friends, including his Maple Leaf friends, whom he loved dearly.
