Obituary for Ruby J. Watts
Romans 14:8 " If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord."
Ms. Ruby Jean Watts, was born in Iredell County on August 27, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Sam Gilbert Watts, and Lula Mae Watts. She departed this life on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Maple Leaf, of Statesville, N.C., following an extended illness. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James Lonnie Watts, Gilbert Allen Watts, and Glen Watts; four sisters, June Watts Ingram, Gladys Watts, Janice Watts McClain, and Bren Watts.
Ruby was a 1963 graduate of Unity High, and was a devoted member of Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church. She was well known for cooking and making delicious pies and cakes. She was retired from Craftmaster. Ruby will truly be missed.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, four sisters, Mary Eunice Watts, Ella Mae Watts, Dorothy Watts Seymore, and Emily Watts Mayberry, all of Statesville; three aunts, Annie Morrison, Jo Carolyn Morrison, and Joan Morrison; three nieces, Carla Watts, Rosetta Watts, and Emma McClain (Anthony)Dye; four nephews, James (Vickie) Watts, Dale Watts, Isaac Mayberry, and Todd Mayberry, all of Statesville; a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives , the Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church family, special friends, Shirley Gaddy Herriot, Idella Maxwell, Evelyn Gibbs, Helen Davis, and her Maple Leaf family of Statesville.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2022, at Clark’s Chapel Church, at 2:00 p.m. The visitation will be from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m.. Reverend Dr. Dietrich M.
