Obituary for Shawn Maurice Gregory
Mr. Shawn Maurice Gregory, 45, departed his life on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at his residence in Statesville, N.C.. He was born in Iredell County, on January 29, 1976, to Gwen Gregory, and the late Edward Holbrook.
Shawn attended Statesville High School, and was self-employed as a Barber. He attended Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church, at an early age. Affectionately called, Shawny Baby, will truly be missed.
Shawn leaves to cherish the memories of his life, along with his mother, two sons, Kenyonn Gregory, of Baltimore Md., and Shawn M. Gregory, Jr. of Statesville, N.C.; nine brothers, Timothy Black, Sr., Edward L. Holbrook, III, Darrell Rucker, Jonathan Smyre, Richard Black, and Justin Gillespie, all of Statesville, Richard Barber of Catawba, N.C., Oliver Robinson, Jr., Baltimore, Md., and Brandon Gregory of Stony Point, NC; two sisters, Terra Howard of Lawrence, Ga. and Ebony Brandon Mack of Charlotte, N.C.; one grandchild, Nehemiah Gregory of Baltimore, MD.; a special cousin, LaToya Holbrook of Statesville, N.C.; a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held a Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 1:00 p.m.. Visitation will be from 12:30 - 1:00 p.m.. Bishop Wilford Walls will officiate.
