Obituary for Shawn Darnell "Shawn Shawn" Whren Jr.

Our beloved Shawn Darnell Whren, Jr., age 31 resident of Statesville, NC departed this life on July 1, 2022 at Iredell Memorial. Shawn was born on October 9, 1990 in Iredell County to Julia Chambers and Shawn Whren Sr.
Shawn was preceded in death by his uncle Charles W. Norman Jr., aunt Sharon Whren and his twin nieces Khaleeyah and Khalayah Frazier.

Shawn Darnell Whren, Jr., affectionately called “ShawnShawn” attended Statesville Senior High School. He was a loving, kind, considerate person that would give the shirt off his back and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone he encountered.

Shawn loved his family, especially caring for all his nieces and nephews, preparing dishes for them that he may have seen on a cooking show. He never met a stranger having a smile for everyone that crossed his path. Those who known him know that Shawn liked bright colors, purple being his favorite.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents Julia (Bobby) Chambers of Statesville and Shawn Whren, Sr. of Statesville; twin sister, Jacquelyn Whren; baby brother, Julius Chambers; honorary brother, Richard Green; step-brother, Bobby Chambers; step-brother, Tristan Styers; step-sister, Kayla Johnson (Scott); brother/cousin, Christopher Smith; sister/cousin, Katasha Frazier (Larry); maternal grandparents, Charles and Amanda Norman; paternal grandparents, Jimmy and Betty Whren; aunt, Pamela Jones; uncle, Renzel Whren; special friends, Reggie Geter, Devon Savoy, Marquis Parker, Robert Geter and the Shop Crew; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary, at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Tawanna Myers doing the eulogy. Visitation will be held from 12:30 - 1:00 pm, and the burial will be in Belmont cemetery. Visit the book of memories for Shawn Whren at Rutledge and Bigham is serving the Whren family.
