Obituary for Tammy Michelle Scott

Isaiah 35:10 ..and those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing, everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Tammy Michelle Scott, 59, daughter of the late Colis and Eloise Rankin Scott was born May 30, 1963 and departed this life on October 5, 2022 at Iredell Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Tammy was a graduate of South Iredell High School Class of 1982 and an employee of CommScope for 28 years. She loved reading, loved HGTV, loved fussing Gary out, but mostly loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, SharDay Ontrice Gaither; a sister, Delois Rankin; two brothers, James Leroy Scott and John Reginald Scott; a special aunt, Georgia Scott; one niece, Lenay McCoy; two nephews, DeShaun Witherspoon and Dean Scott Henry; one sister-in-law, Leslie Scott; her paternal grandparents, Daniel and Emma Brown; her maternal grandparents, Albert and Elizabeth Glaspy Rankin and Ruth Rankin.

She leaves to cherish in her memory, one daughter, Tiomi SharVar Scott of Statesville; one grandson, Zavion Nacchir Chipley of Statesville; four granddaughters, SharDanae Chipley, La’Rhea Harris, Jael Harris, and Jordyn Robinson, all of Statesville; a special nephew, Dwayne (Samantha) Smith of Statesville; a grandniece, Autumn Smith of Statesville; three brothers, Colis Scott, Larry Scott, and Gary Scott, all of Statesville; two sisters, Thedoric Witherspoon of Cleveland, NC and Joan Smith of Franklin, TN; five aunts, and one uncle, Margretta Cowan of Advance, Clara Rankin, Gwendolyn Rankin, Patricia Wellman, and Hallie and Richard Davidson, all of Statesville; one goddaughter, Shawana Nichols of Statesville; and a special friends Saundra Hinds, Twannna Nichols, Haywood Minnigan, Shawana Nichols, and Lisa Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and friends.


Celebration of Life services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the True Vine Worship Center, Statesville. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. at the church. Pastor Josh Bunton will be officiating and burial will follow at the Mt. Tabor Church Cemetery.
