Obituary for Terry Alphonso Davis

John 11:25: " Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life, he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live."

Mr. Terry Alphonso Davis, 60, was born in Iredell County on April 26, 1962, and was the son of Ada Magdelina Wasson Bridges and the late Alphonzo Davis. He departed this life on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House.

Terry attended Iredell County Schools and was a graduate of North Iredell High School. He was employed as a machine operator with Uniglass and was a member of the New Smith Chapel Pentecostal Church of Salisbury, NC. He served with the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He received numerous awards including the Army Service Ribbon, Marksman Badge with M-16 Rifle Bar, and Sharpshooter Badge with Hand Grenade Bar.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Perry Davis; four sisters, Linda Davis, Brenda Davis, Eva Feimster, and Robin Davis; Edith Woods, Harry Bridges Jr., and Joanne Morehead.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his mother, Ada Madelina Wasson Bridges; two brothers, Barry Davis of Statesville, and Bryan (Tanica) Bridges of Troutman; three sisters, Debbie Davis of Tallahassee, FL, Shirley Hallmon of Miami FL, and Latoina Campbell of Statesville, NC; two stepsisters, Annie (Jimmy) Caldwell, and Hattie Lou Ellis both of Salisbury, NC; one stepbrother, Melton Bridges of Salisbury, NC; two aunt, Mary Lois (Paul) Parker and Glenda Wasson; an uncle, James (Laura) Wasson; brother-in-law, Martel Morehead of Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends.


A Celebration of Life services will be on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 11:30 am at New Smith Chapel Pentecostal Church, Salisbury, NC. Visitation will be from 11:00 - 11:30 am at the church. Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC, at 1:00 pm.
