Obituary for Zion Syncere Wilder

Matthew 5:4 " Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted."

Zion Syncere Wilder, 19, was born in Iredell County, on January 3, 2004, to Joshua Nehimiah Wilder, and Shakeba Morgan. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.

Zion was a Senior at Statesville High School and Northview Academy where he played baseball. He also played for Power Cross. Zion was a very pleasant, loyal, and manner-able person and will truly be missed.

A Candle Light Vigil was held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 1002, 7th Street, Statesville, in his honor.

Zion was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Oliver and Mildred Wilder, Bertha Louise Davidson Gill "Sister Pie", and Rufus Eugene " Ookie" Glover.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life in addition to his parents, Joshua Nehimiah Wilder (Tonya Wilkes), and Shakeeba Morgan, both of Statesville, four brothers, Nehimiah Bellamy-Davidson, Josias Wilkes, Jai'mir Wike, and Jaeceon Wike; three sisters, London Jordon, Samieha Morgan, and Malea Gray; uncles, John Wilder, Stephen Wilder, and Ditarrie Hooper; aunts, Cia Morrison, Unshay Mull, and Star Turner; paternal grandparent, Lisa Maria Wilder (Brandon), and maternal grandparents, Elizabeth Davidson, and Terry Morgan; great uncles and great aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home and burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery.
