Sudie Marlene "Sudie Mae"  Grimes
Ms. Sudie Marlene Grimes was born in Statesville, NC on July 29, 1954, and was the daughter of Bobby Grimes and the late Virginia T. Grimes. She transitioned from life at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center on Thursday, April 2, 2015.

Known as “Sudie Mae” by friends and family, she was educated in the Statesville School System, beginning at Unity High School and graduating from South Iredell High School. She was employed at I-CARE, Inc. as an Administrator, at Interfaith Deliverance Center as a Teacher and Administrator and later in food service at Celeste Henkel. Her love for people caused her to volunteer as Event Coordinator for CAHAC at Mulberry Street Apartments residents. She lived in Lexington, NC for several years and served under Bishop Derek Kelly at New Faith Full Gospel Fellowship where she served faithfully on the choir and usher ministries. When moving back to Statesville, she rejoined Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church serving on the Greeting Ministry, Usher Board and Choir. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by uncles and aunts, Deacon Bill Grimes and Pauline Isom and niece, LaToya Stovall.

Sudie leaves to remember and celebrate the blessing of her life in addition to her father, Bobby of the home; two sisters, Minister Barbara Grimes Gray and Ellen (Charlie) Scott, both of Statesville; three brothers, Ronnie (Ethel) Grimes, Lonnie Grimes and Donnie Grimes, all of Statesville; granddaughter, Gigi Davis; aunts and uncles, Deacon Jay Lynn (Geraldine) Grimes, Maggie Grimes Parker, Dorothy Grimes Stughill, and Jimmy (Regua) Murdock, all of Statesville and Joe (Brenda) Grimes of Florence, S.C., Lucille Grimes and Gene Isom, both of Cleveland, Ohio, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, neighbors and dear friends. She was also married to Willie C. Hill, the late Scottice Blackmon and Roscoe Davis.
