Obituary

Shawn Tijuana Allison, 43, was born March 11, 1977 in Iredell County. He was the son of Betty Jean Allison. He departed his life on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, Winston Salem, N.C.

Mr. Allison attended Statesville High School and graduated from West Rowan High School in 1995. He was North Carolina Tarheel #1 biggest fan.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Stafford Craig Livingston, his maternal grandparents, James Allison, Sr. and Lillie Jane Rankin Allison; and an uncle, James Allison, Jr. He was married to Kathy Vaughters Allison.

In addition to his wife, Kathy, he leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his beloved mother, Betty Allison of the home; four sons, Tyrelle Allison of Salisbury, N.C., Justice Lackey of Statesville, N.C., Kalil Allison of Charlotte, N.C. and Kamari Allison of Mooresville, N.C.; two granddaughters, Ava Castillo-Lackey and Nova Paige Allison; one brother, Rodney (Tiffany) Livingston of Statesville, N.C.; three cousins that was reared with him, Garrick Rucker, Tonisha White and Lanise White, all of Statesville, N.C.; two nieces and four nephews, Roddrell Livingston, Keontaye Livington, Roddrick Livingston, Rodney Livingston, Jr., Tyrese Livingston and Kenleigh Allison; three aunts, Jannie Mitchell, Mamie (Billy) McKee, and Linda (Lonnie) White, all of Statesville, N.C.; two great aunts, Alma J. Ivery and Ruth Rankin, both of Statesville, N.C.; host of cousins, other relatives and friends, including special cousins and friends, Marcus Lamont McKee, Lonzo LaPrince Smith, II, Maurice McKee, Corey Ivery, Tony Allison, Tywone McHenry, Carlos Everhart, Gavin Turner, Sawiaha Ellis and Michael Summers.


Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Minister Maurice Lackey will officiate and Reverend David Leaven will eulogize. The family will assemble at the residence of his mother, Betty Allison, 194 North Point Boulevard, Building 400, Apartment 415, Statesville, NC at other times.

There will be NO PUBLIC VISITATION, unfortunately, with the COVID-19 Virus we, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, along with other funeral homes across the country, have been issued a mandate to limit the number of family and/or friends at funeral services. YOU CAN ONLY ENTER THE FUNERAL WITH A FUNERAL PASS WHICH WILL BE GIVEN TO THE FAMILY.

GENERAL PUBLIC VIEWING WILL BE FROM 3:00 P.M. UNTIL 7:00 P.M. on Monday and resume on Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

At the request of the family... there will be NO ONLINE VIEWING.
